I know speed tests arent meant to be hard evidence on the speed, but thats pretty much the max speed i get anywhere, any ideas how i can get my actual sync? MTU settings dont affect anything i've tried all that, and i cant really go messing around with the phone sockets lol
Also, in another thread i pointed out how someone with a higher Attenuation had a higher sync + snr, how is that? or is it jsut im unlucky and have a bad line?...
The speed at which data travels including any overheads. Adsl-guide estimate that overheads add an additional 8% on top of your actual speed. The title true speed can be a bit misleading since we can never know for sure exactly how much overheads are added when traversing a network.
- Actual (Throughput) Speed.
The "Actual Speed" is the rate at which useful data is sent and received without any overheads. Therefore this figure is the one that users should use when quoting their line speed.
So from your stats you have a 5440 sync which gives a 436 estimate of overheads bringing your maximum usable speed to 5004. We don't know exactly what speed your connection can run at due to it being LLU, ADSL Max uses profiles while LLU doesn't and it simply won't be running at exactly the sync speed. This would account for the speed you're getting along with any other network overheads and that it's rare to really use all the available bandwidth all at once perfectly.
