I've had my broadband (if you can call it that!) for 2 weeks.
On connection, I got an email saying the following:
Great news, your phone line is now ready for up to 8 Meg broadband. Now you're
up and running, we can now work on getting you the best speed your line can
support.

first ten days. The first time you go online, you'll need to stay on for 15
minutes so the testing can start. You may notice that your connection is
intermittent for the first few days, don't worry, this is due to the testing and
won't last long.

call 150 on your mobile phone for free or 07973 100150 where lines are open 24/

Well.....
5 calls to technical support later and I'm still getting intermittent connections and when I do its more like a 0.5Meg connection.
Their service line, amusingly states, that they are having network upgrades which will be completed on the 15th June......with the guy starting with service status as of Saturday 16th June, 8am!? What the hell!?!?
The last techie I spoke to said there is a 'known problem' with speeds at the moment.
i just spoke to joe 5 mins ago from newcastle, took my BT line number, asked the password, then read out a statement saying that the work is ongoing throughout june, and will be completed at the end of the month, he appologised and then said ' bear with us untill the end of the month then you'll see your speeds increaseing day by day untill you hit a stable 3mb or even more. he made reference to when i spoke to an indian lady and i mentioned the 4 days, he had nothing to say. so according to joe, everthing should be fine at the end of june. hmmm
So Orange sent me a new RJ11 cable.....intermittent connection seems to have settled....for now, but still crap speeds.
Their answer is, 'Hold on til the end of the month...' >_<
Hold on till the end of the month ? !!! hahaha which YEAR are they referring to then?.... dont get caught mate... get out now before its too late and go to an ISP who know what they are doing.
They are playing with everyones connections cos they dont know HOW to fix any of these problems.
Service as shocking as ever and still no idea of fix dates... so much for Mr Abensurs 5 day offer lmao...
I wonder if there is ANYONE at Orange who isnt trained to lie?
I would hate to work for a company like that having to give false promises and blatant lies to customers... in fact im still VERY suprised they are still in business but perhaps people are beginning to see through all these false promises by Orange.

well u cant say i didnt tell ya ! lol... this just gives more "amunition" to those unfortunate enough to be with this shower of ****...
perhaps, and i just say PERHAPS, one day Orange will know what they are doing... but im afraid until then your all stuck with a c**p service ! get out now and go to an ISP who knows what they are doing.
On ADSL Max any sort of intermittant sync connection is between your modem/router/livebox and the BT equipment at the exchange. As it's intermittant it's also very likely the system monitoring the connection is reducing the profile as a stability measure so explains the low speed when it is connected.
You're going to need to get them to put through a line test if it's not already been done. Forget speed for now, get the intermittant problem focused on first as it's likely the cause of everything.
