have just connected my computer to our BT business network and can no longer send emails from our freeserve account - but we can still receive on this account
BT say they only allow emails from their own domains not anybody elses
does anyone have any ideas on changing any settings in the email account properties (changing the smtp doesnt seem to work)
The original post was about a BT connection being unable to send email through the freeserve account. In this case receiving should work fine with the Orange settings but sending is blocked unless on an Orange connection. To get around this you normally need to change the outgoing server to the ISP you're using, so here you use BT's SMTP settings.
