I upgraded to Orange Unlimited at the begining of the year and up until a few weeks ago I was a very happy customer. My Internet connection was rock solid and my download speed on average was a fantastic 6.5mb and even during peak times it only dropped to around 4.5mb (I live less than a mile away from my exchange).
But for the last 3 weeks my speed has dropped dramatically to a pathetic 1mb and sometimes as low as 0.3mb not forgetting the random disconnections which I never had before!
So today I contacted Orange Customer Support to find out what had gone wrong, only to be told that my line had been restricted to 2mb while they "upgraded" me to LLU and that they couldn't give me a date When the upgrade would be completed as it was BT engineers doing the work.
Does anybody know how long the LLU upgrade usually takes? Bearing in mind that I've been experiencing slow speeds now for 3 weeks.
What can I expect after the upgrade? Reading some of the posts here it sounds like Orange LLU is bad news!!
Are they allowed do this without even contacting me first? I was not informed at all about the transfer to LLU or that my connection speed would be restricted while the work was carried out.
If my connection speed does not go back up to what I was getting before the upgrade am I within my rights to cancel my contract without incurring a cancelation fee (i'm still within my 12 month contract period)?.

Think someone has had the pleasure of meeting Mr Fob-off there

How long is a piece of string, I've seen them go into DSM error and be stuck like that for a good few months.

Chances are the "upgrade" has already gone through and the system just havent updated. If you still have a connection and you noticed a definate time when it changed you can bet your bottom dollar thats when the switch over happened and you are on the new and improved LLU service
Why should the line be restricted while you are being upgraded - surely it's a job for someone in the line to move which socket you are patched thru to
Maybe it's so that once the LLU has gone through, you won't notice much of a difference (because it will be similar to what you're experiencing now) and hence won't complain IYSWIM

I agree. Like you I think the upgrade has been completed and they are just making excuses for such a diabolical LLU service. I'm going to phone back today and demand some answers.
I'm Lucky as I have an Orange company mobile, I can dial 150 and it doesn't cost me anything!. I shall ring them every day if i have to until they sort this mess out!!

Phoned Orange again. They are a bunch of clueless idiots! They have completely changed their story. Apparently I am still on the BT ipstream Max network. I have not been migrated to Orange LLU and there are no Plans to do so.
I don't know who to believe but I do know something Orange technical support are a bunch of liars who will tell you anything to get you off the phone.
And Guess what? they are going to do a line test. I have to phone back in 24 hours to get the results. Can't wait!
I have a feeling this is the beginning of the end for me and Orange.
And for the record my download speed hit an all time low today of 250k that's less than my upload speed!
