I just chased up my MAC that I requested on Saturday. Quelle surprise, it hasn't been actioned.
They have a record of my request, but no record of it being taken any further.
I spoke to a very helpful supervisor who assured me that this time it would be dealt with. I shall certainly repost with any progress.
She even offered me 9.99pcm with the next six months free!
No thank you, said I. I'd rather pay Waitrose 19pcm for a solid connection. Can't fault her for trying though.
I asked her if she was aware of this site, and she is. So, if she reads this, and recognises my call, thanks for your time and explanations and (hopefully!) putting my MAC request through. If staff like that were dealing with the every day nitty gritty, I doubt that Orange (and more's the point, us!) would have the problems that they have.

Ofcom guidelines state the code should be supplied within 5 working days. So taking into account the Bank Holiday, then the latest Orange can deliver it to you should be the 3rd of June

The lady I spoke to confirmed their records showed I had requested it on Saturday 26 May, they just hadn't actioned it. So by my reckoning that makes Monday 04 June the fifth working day.
I'm pretty sure I clarified this point when I spoke to her. She explained she passes the request to another section, which only works normal hours (ie not at 9 in the evening). And she implied they don't take telephone calls from the public (she said something along the lines of them being backroom or something).
We shall see. I'll probably phone back Friday evening if it's not arrived by then. To confirm it's definitely been actioned this time, if nothing else.
My Dad requested his MAC on Saturday as well (he's on Orange as well). He asked for it to be posted and he received it today (Wednesday). I think Royal Mail deserve five stars there (my brother's a postie ;-)
