Had been experiencing connection problems for about a month - unable to acccess BBC, AVG (antivirus upgrades) and a whole range of other sites, including Orange! Strangely could still access The AA and Google sites.
After following your excellent link to MTU SETTINGS (under tha banner heading of your pages) I was able to set the MTU and RWIN values correctly for my Speedtouch 330 USB modem (using Dr TCP) and all is now working perfectly again.
So once again, a very big THANK YOU for your professional advice and guidance (qualities totally lacking it would seem within the Orange empire).
As I am now well past the initial 12 month lock-in, next move is to obtain (hopefully, somehow!) a MAC key from Orange and migrate away from these clowns and across to 'Be' as quickly as I possibly can. As as for my Orange Mobile phone contract - that's next to be changed as I am thoroughly disgusted with them too!

Hello tonyg
Thank you for the feedback - good luck with your MAC - tell the agent that you have seen reports of incorrect MACs being given out by Orange and that you trust yours will be correct - may just get Orange staff talking about this issue!

HAha incorrect MACS??? Im guessing what your talking about is LLU MAC codes. There is no way a company can actually generate an "incorrect" mac as you state. What im guessing you are reffering to is LLU MAC codes. Now as far as I was last aware there are only 3 companies out there which will accept LLU migration codes which are Be, Bulldog and Zen.
Because it is against ofcom standards which Orange are part of they to refuse to give out a MACcode Orange staff cannot say "your getting an LLU migration code and it probably wont be accepted" they just have to request them anyways. Now what happens then is the cmr gives this MAC to whoever they are moving to and instead of them saying "Im sorry we dont accept LLU MAC codes" they say "oh Orange have given you an inncorrect MAC code, naughty Orange" When infact it isnt really the case. Still doesnt help the cmr either way really
