Just a few things i'd like to clear up, also might ome in handy for other people wanting to leave, and curious to how it all happens.
1) I know i got a response from someone on this last time i asked, but i'd like more comments on it, maybe someone with eperience, and that is, If you go over your "unlimited" cap, and Orange terminate your account, do they still try and charge you a cancellation fee?
2)Following on from above, do they give you 30 days notice or something, in which time you can get a MAC, or do they just cut you off and you have to wait 10 days for it to clear etc?

If Orange terminate your account then you shouldn't be charged a cancellation fee.

There should be a warning letter stating you have go over their accepted limit. If you go over that limit again then they'll inform you of termination with 30 days notice. There is another part too, if you have high usage within the first 14 days of the 30 day period then they cut it off then. I have no idea what counts as high usage for that period or if you are cut off after the 14 days weather the line is ceased right then or after the full 30 days notice.
Ah right thanks alot, i got an letter from wanadoo, when they wer wanadoo, as i went over my usage, will that count as my first warning or will it have been reset since Orange took over? Of so my next over use will be me getting cut off yeah?
having just had my contract cancelled for going over my limit I can assure you that you do not get charged a fee but also you do not get a 30 day warning. All i got was a letter saying please put your livebox in this bag and send it back to us. The have cancelled my account so i cannot even get a MAC code - i am having to now wait for their marker to be cleared off the line and they cannot tell me how long that will take.
I hope they give me a choice to get my MAC, i dont wanan be waiting ages for them to get their marker off my line, i need the internet on a daily basis lol
I rang up, got a MAC code and closed my account. First thing I did then was to go tt my bank and see with my own eyes the clerk cancel my Orange DD from my account. I would advise everybody who leaves to do this, I have learned what a freaking shambles Orange are.
I am now happily getting good, problem free service from Fsnet.com but........... Orange keep trying to bill me, keep sending emails requesting new payment details, they ring my house and are now threatening late payment fees.
You certainly can't and by the sounds of it they don't even know who's with them and who isn't i would have thought the phone calls from Orange is harassment surely.

It looks to me as though they are taking positve action to ge rid of all the customers who are going over the limit.
I would suggest that this will assist them to get their network back in good shape.
In some ways Orange only have themselves to blame by advertisng it as unlimited.

It's in the Orange terms of use para 17 (general - term and termination)
gives the notice periods which is 30 days unless you succumb to an
overwhelming compulsion to bust into their head office and re-define a
few corporate mission statements in which case they might dispense with
the 30 days.
