After whining about the poor speeds I've been on since migrating to LLU, tech support have downgraded me to see if this stabilises things. So I'm getting speeds of about 1.9 now...which is better than the 1/2 meg I was on but in my opinion is still not 8 meg.
So now what? Are they then gonna upgrade me back to "8 meg" or leave me where I am? I don't understand how temporarily downgrading me is gonna fix things. These are my new stats:
ADSL firmware version : A2pBT009c1.d17d
Connection mode : G.DMT
Type : Fast
Noise margin (dB) : 30.8
Attenuation (dB) : 32.0
Attainable download rate (kbps) : 9056
ADSL status : Connected [0]
You mention 2 things: stability and speed. Your stat 'Attainable download rate (kbps) : 9056' and 'Attenuation (dB) : 32.0' would suggest to me that you could and indeed should be on a much higher speed. As for stability, how many times a day do you get dropped?

Since they downgraded me I haven't noticed any dropouts, and my speed sits pretty consistently on about 1.9Meg. Before they downgraded my I was dropping out all the time, and my average speed was about 700kbps; I once got a speed of 5.1Meg, so I know I'm capable of higher speeds. Will be interesting to see what happens when I ask them to upgrade me again.
