I have (after a mere month of waiting) got my live box. I finally got it installed only to find that I have to be closer to the livebox now than if I use the lead.

I have changed the channel, but as soon as i move to the next room it goes down to about 1 MBPS and then drops out. to get it back i have to go back to my live box.

Is there anyway i can increase this range? I have not signed the hire agreement yet, so I am very tempted to tell them to come and collect it and I'll go and buy an off the shelf job.

If anyone has any ideas then pls let me know. I am running a RALINK 2500 PCI wifi card in a fujitsu siemens laptop.

either you have a wierd house (with metal walls Laughing

) or chances are the antenni is broken in the laptop

have you tried the laptop with another router (such as at a friends house)?

The livebox tends to have a reasonable range, certainly more that 3m

Wireless doesn't work in my house as the walls are 2ft thick granite. Not something I had considered as radio and digital signals aren't affected.

My livebox had to be connected to the main BT socket also, not off an extension lead.

Are you using the inventel wireless adapter supplied? My HP laptop has WiFi but won't configure to the livebox.
