I cannot get any more then 1.8Mb/s on my livebox, I am paying for 8Mb/s. I used to get 8Mb/s regular when I was with BT and Tiscali. I have contacted technical support over 10 times via email and it seems that I am going around in circles. I get a reply after about 4 days but because different people are dealing with it they offer similar tried solutions. I think it is the livebox that is the problem (just a hunch). Has anyone else had this? I am thinking about asking for another livebox. My friend had this problem also with BT, when he changed the router to a different model it cured it. I dont know if this is related.
I have just spoke again to a technical advisor who told me that they cannot give me a new livebox as they have a speed issue that they are not publisising with the 8Mb speeds all over the UK, and cannot give out liveboxes until this has been resolved. It has been going on since February and is to be reviewed 30/5/07. They do not have it anywhere on the interent and will not make their customers aware of the outcome of the review. If you want to know about it you need to phone the tech help.
