I had speedtouch and upgraded to the 8mb package which comes with the livebox. Tried to install it but due to firewalls, even though they were switched off, nothing would work so I thought I would wait a month until my planned reformat took place then there would be no firewall whatsoever.
So the month is up, I reformatted, this time at least the CD worked which it didn’t previously. I get all the way through the installation process, the lights flash as there meant to but it fails at the very last hurdle when it attempts to connect to the internet.
I followed the manual instructions posted elsewhere in the forums to no avail because it just comes back that it cant connect.
If I look at the network connections, I can see the Ethernet connection but it says theres no connectivity after it attempts to find an address.
I phoned Orange a couple of times but got someone who could neither speak nor understand English on both occasions. We kept going round in circles, the guy didn’t have a clue and would therefore ask me the same question time after time after time. Basically he used an excuse whereby “its nothing to do with us, its your computer and therefore you have to take it with the manufacturer” I can just see Packard Bell assisting me to install an Orange livebox, cant you…….
So that was that, I am just glad I had a fall back or I would be in a 12 month contract with no BB. Luckily because I had previously had speedtouch I am using that for the time being. Although even that is crap, because it never stays on, it cuts out after random times, sometimes a few hours, sometimes a day, but I download constantly so this is a pain in the ass. One I hoped the livebox may fix.
