Hi
I have recently (starting May 1st) been moved to MAX from 1 MB service, and during my 10 day period, I haven't seen much evidence of my synch speed being bumped up or down.
Day 1 my router was synching at 6400 without any action from me & my throughput rate was still about 500kpbs. That was before I knew about checking my IP profile, so I switched the router off for 10 mins and back on again. To see if it made any difference - which it didn't
Next day synch speed was 6296 (probably slightly lower as a result of the reboot?), download speeds were still atrocious so I turned the router off and on again.
From day 3 on my synch speed seems to max out at about 5600 ish and hasn't budged. Download speeds vary between 500k and 3000k
Excuse if my numbers are not spot on as I don't have my log with me - but they are of the general ball park
Anyway, I have not seen any evidence of my line being trained. Is this something I can have checked / restarted, or is it better to stay with what I have, as I have a reasonably stable connection
It can be restarted if there's a problem but I'd suggest waiting and seeing what happens at the moment. Speeds can be somewhat variable during the training.
If you got a download speed of 3000 once then it suggests your profile has been moved up, what has it changed to?

Sorry if I've not explained myself clear
My synch speed is always on 5696 (ish) since day 3. The variable download speeds I am seeing are the same contention / speed issues many others are seeing. What I have not seen is my synch rate changing at all during the 1st 10 days - unless I reboot the router and get a very slightly different synch rate.
I have looked at my account at the "change my speed" button. This has changed from "an amendment is in progress" message to "my speed is 4.5 MB"

Sync rates not changing unless you reboot is normal. A Sync speed is an established speed until the connection is re-established, either by disconnection or reboot usually. As far as actual speeds you get, things can be weird during the 10 day training period. Some people don't even notice it others get much reduced speed or very variable speeds, reduced profiles, etc. You can't really be sure one way or another until that period is up and then see what it's like.

Means the regrade has gone through and ideally you should be on 4.5 meg. Your sync speed agrees with that pretty closely.
