i have a pc which is wired correctly and connects to the livebox and internet fine. when i then connect my laptop, the internet works fine on both pc and laptop then after a few mins the pc will disconnect and dont seem to want to reconnect. comes up limited or no connectivity. both are using DHCP and i have limited the ip addresses it can use but it seems to me that both are tring to use the same ip, does anyone know the settings so i can set the pc to always connect at a set up.
would you be able to tell me the numbers needed for seperate addresses, DNS servers and gateway etc. Can i have the pc on a static ip within my network and the laptop on dhcp or can i only have one or the other. cheers
The instructions in that link are easy to follow and talk you through setting up a static IP on your pc or laptop..
(Admin - Hope posting that link was alright, its a free advice page so they shouldn't mind.. If its not ok sorry.. I would email them but can't find an address..)
