My broadband is in my (ex)partner's name and is paid by direct debit from his bank every month. However he's left, so I'm currently getting my Orange broadband for free. I hate it so much I'd rather pay £25/month for a decent service, but how can I get out of Orange without a MAC code? I'm not in touch with my ex so I cannot simply ask him to cancel the contract.
Well if the broadband account is in your partners name then technically you're not bound by the contract.
I believe you just need to write in with proof (BT bill in your name etc) that you're not the account holder and want the broadband removed. You can't really get a MAC in this situation as that would cause the account to be closed which you wouldn't be authorised to do.
