With the livebox you provide them with the key and just before their first connection you press the 1 button so it's in pairing mode. It's limited to 6 simultaneous wireless connections. Wired connections as far as I know aren't limited by anything except the amount of IP addresses it has and being able to connect switches up to provide enough ports.

I nearly replied to the OP last night, but not using a livebox I decided not to reply in case of restrictions I didn't know of

Nope.
Without extra hardware there's only 2 LAN connections. Using a switch(es) then you can push that up close to 200 before you have to start fiddling with settings.
Wireless doesn't limit the number of associated devices from what I know, it just limits the number than can be used at once to 6.
Well it's just the way wired works that you can have that many connections. I wouldn't even bother though as there's a huge downside to using many connections, limited throughput due to the how everything eventually funnels through 1 or 2 100mbit ports.
Limiting wireless is probably as a measure to try prevent degredation from too many signals and users trying to use it at once.
