I also did the Speedtest.net speed checker - this took a long time to asess the download speed and the results are pretty much the same as above but thought i woul dpost them as it kind of confirms that there is a problem
I'm leaving Orange. Have been with them since they were Wanadoo and they were ok. All my problems with speed started when i was given the 8meg upgrade (or downgrade). My 2meg connection was perfect. I didn't even ask for the upgrade.
AND...........As i am getting side-tracked with speeds, my connection KEEPS DROPPING.
AND........
I turn my computer off at the socket on the wall each night which also turns off the modem (i do not have a livebox). So when i want to use the internet i have to connect each time. The problem is that it may take many attempts to connect. I keep getting 718 errors and 734 errors. So of course, when i get disconnected half way though doing what i am doing it takes me a good 20 minutes to get connected again - if i can get connected. Often i have to come back the next bloody day.
now i have to click submit but am frightened i'll lose connection - but as i am use to this i have a tip for others in the same predicament. Open another browser window see if it works if it does all shoul dbe ok to click submit.
That's my rant over with i will be phoning Orange later to get my MAC i think. i shall reply back if and let you know if they give it to me
