Hi everyone
I am trying to setup my brothers livebox for him and seem to have a bit of a problem. First thing is when I try to run the installation cd, I get to the point where it asks if you want to setup livebox for the first time or repair. I click install for the first time and the help file automatically opens on the page where it tells you about possible problems with your firewall and I can get no further.
Well I have disabled the firewall which is mcafee and still no joy, I have also checked that the windows firewall did not enable itself when I disabled mcafee firewall.
I have also tried getting into the configuration settings without using the installation cd and hooking the pc via an ethernet cable. after I enter the ip address 192.168.1.1 I just get the usual web page when you have no connection.
I know the firewall can cause problems when installing the livebox using the disk, but will it have the same effect even without using the cd? Should I just uninstall mcafee and see if that works?
ok, I just come across a post that may have helped. It looks like it could be flash player that is causing the problem. I will see if this is installed on the computer and uninstall it if it is and see what happens.
