I had no computer for 3 months due to the eliments taking it down. Now have a new one (having kept up my payments to Orange)now I can receive emails but any I send do not arrive.I have rung them twice and got told what seems a lot of rubbish about the lines all being blocked because of people sending spam emails and that it would be sorted within days (which hasn't happened) I can't afford to keep ringing them and can find no address to write to them can anyone help?Joan James
Yeah, a client of mine is having the same problem. They use the Livebox or a LinkSys router, and Outlook/Outlook Express to send emails via SMTP to the address specified on the helpdesk pages of smtp.orangehome.co.uk.
Sometimes the messages are successfully received by the SMTP server.
More often, the user receives "your SMTP server could not be contacted".
What seriously worries me is that when the messages ARE received successfully by the SMTP server, they rarely ever reach their destination. Worse still, as port 25 through to other email servers is also blocked through the Orange network, you can't switch to an alternative which works.
Definately one of the worst qualities service I've ever come across in the industry. Complaining is fruitless, India just don't understand the concepts involved.
