Switched to Entanet in mid-March, paying by direct debit and leaving them to sort out the whole changeover form my Orange "8mb" service. Orange charged me full whack by DD for Feb-March, even though I left part way through the billing period. Screw it, I thought, I can't be bothered to argue with them.
On checking my bank statement today I find they've also charged me the full 27.99 for March-April, although I'm long since out of contract and they haven't provided me with any service at all this month.
I'll phone the bank tomorrow and make sure my DD is totally cancelled. But how do I get my 27.99 back from these c***s?
Moral of the story looks to be - when you leave Orange, cancel the DD yourself with your bank, don't rely on them to do it.
This reply is a bit late but if anyone is still being charged after cancelling their contract you are entitled to recoup your money under the terms of the direct debit agreement.
Speak to your bank and tell them that you have cancelled your contract but Orange are still charging you, then ask them to reverse the direct debit. The bank will credit your account and then recover the money from Orange.
