I noticed on my bank statement that Orange took £15 out of my bank. I pay them an extra £5 a month for the broadband so was bemused as to where the extra £10 had come from (especially since i was promised the £5 wouldnt be charged for broadband for the first month since it didnt even work)
well Orange customer service (INDIA - Ugh) said that there was no funds in the bank so the direct debit was returned .. utter bull***t since i know theres plenty of cash there. I then asked if there was no funds to take £5 out then how can they manage to take £15 out? It clearly didnt make sense.
Rang my bank to find out that NO direct debits have been refused or returned to Orange and that they were simply lying about this! Not only did i feel like a tit (not that i believed Orange but i had to ring my bank to at least verify it) but its such a waste of my time and actually quite slanderous of them!
How can i get my money back- The £10 charge and also the £5 which i shouldnt have to pay since i never had the net for a month? Orange don't seem to want to know - when i ring the customer service ops in india pretend the line is bad (haha what does that say about their shoddy mobile coverage too?) and pretend that they cant hear me .. i know they cannot hang up so they soon succumb and start talking when they realise their call length average is going up!!)

HELP!!!
You should be able to get your bank to reclaim the money under the direct debit guarantee. It includes:
"If an error is made by the organisation or your bank or building society, you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund from your branch of the amount paid"
If you are having billing problems and just dont seem to be getting any help, call and ask to talk to the Escalations team , they are the most helpful team and as long as you keep your cool with them will help you evey time.

Thank you!!! I did that today and they have admitted that they are at fault and are refunding me the £15 plus an extra 2 months free (not that i expect to be with them for another 2 months)
I then asked to speak to tch support about the other issue (v slow connection) but unfortunately lost my calm with him since he was an arse!
