You will never get 8mb unless you live in the exchange and share the line with no-one.
No, you'd get 7.15 meg. Thats the highest possible profile on an ADSL Max line.
As for the speed, go through:

It should give you your current profile, thats what limits the speed of your connection. You'll probably have it set to 6000 or 6500. There's only two more higher levels, your line is sync'd at maximum so you could possibly go upto that at some point.
There's no point running any tests through Orange as the tests are specificially for faults where your line is below the Fault Threshold Rate, which is set at the end of the 10 days. The tests don't help you with settings to get the best speed on the line at all.
Ideally your profile should go up within 3 days if your downstream rate (sync) stays at 8128. However when within the initial 10 days this can sort of get delayed until after the 10 days.
