I have been on Orange Broadband unlimited (supposedly 8Meg) for 9 months and recently moved to London. Despite numerous online tests and even BT confirming I should be able to get 6-8Meg speed, Orange are STILL refusing to supply me with this speed, and have kept me on a piddly 2Meg (although mostly below 1Meg). They are insisting my line isn't compatible with above 2Meg but I don't see how this can be the case! I live just half a mile from the exchange, and every test i do confirms i should be on faster speed.
Would like to know if anyone has encountered a similar problem, and if anyone has found a way to get Orange off the asses and solve it!
Unfortunately Marky is right, the whole Orange experience really isn't worth the money ones gives them each month.
As you have 3 months left on your contract, start eyeballing ISPs which would be more likely to provide the service you expect from an ISP - select one from the top 5 ISPs. When your contract comes to end say goodbye, I sincerely believe you won't be looking back.
Orange full well know what the problems are and how to solve them, if and when they choose to do so will be in their own time and not because a 'few' users complain...They do not deserve your money.
Or just pull out now - sod the contract which isn't worth anything - and go elsewhere. As I've said on these forums many times and to Orange themselves, if the connection isn't back to at least the original 2Mb speed by this Friday, then I'm off, if they try charging me the remaining contract fee - which was restarted when I opted for the 2Mb-8Mb jump - then I'll laugh at them.
Since the supposed "upgrade" I've had nothing but disconnections and slooooow speeds, so how can they possibly restart a 12 month contract for a downgrade?
At the moment I'm getting around 3-4KB/s download, I wish I still had my dial-up!
