told them that my router was saying that the line is active , but i wasnt getting an ip address (and thus no internet)
what then followed was an utter farce. they told me to install a freeserve speedtouch adsl modem on an XP box - the end result of which (after an hour) was the same f***king thing that i told them when i started the call - the LINE IS ACTIVE, but i'm not getting an ip address...
solution? "we'll do a line test. call back in 24 hours..."
oh - the reason why they put me through the speedtouch/xp fiasco was because they "dont support Linux" , as thats my primary OS.
its the freakin' internet - it shouldnt matter what OS i use - my LINE IS DOWN!!! arragghh.
