I'm new to broadband (5 days) and suppose i was suckered in by the £5 per month broadband. Think it might have been a mistake!!
There seems to be big fluctuations in speed. Sometimes its quite fast, others slow. Just completed a BT speed test and the results are below.
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 4500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 5376 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 832 kbps

Can anyone help me so I can achieve 5376 download speed all of the time?
Ok first of all you'll never achieve 5376kbps download speed at any time with stats and profile you've posted. Stats do fluctuate a bit so it may be possible at some times but you have partly misunderstood the way things work.
5376kbps is the sync rate, this determines the profile which is always lower than the sync rate. It's the profile that is the technical maximum speed of the connection, in your example 4500kbps. It's the maximum profile you can have with that connection but under perfect conditions you could get a 5000kbps profile. As interleaving is on I doubt you'll be able to get a stable enough connection for the system to increase it to 5000 without some work.
Checking your phone socket wiring (links in the sticky thread on this) may help push it upto that level.
Now from this one test your speed seems pretty slow but so many things can influence the speed.
Do other speed tests and actual download performance, prefrably multiple files (from different sources) downloading at the same time, confirm this sort of speed? Does it happen at any particular times of the day? Are you within the first 10 days of connecting on ADSL Max?
