Thought I'd post this info here as it had me confused for a while.
I am visiting family in France - and they have a Livebox from Wanadoo France - firmware INVENTEL version : v5.08
I could connect to it over wifi after pressing Button 1 - but once my connection dropped ... I could not reconnect unless I put it back into pairing mode.
i.e. the Livebox was not remembering my MAC address.
I tried a few things - but then had a brainwave ... and I enabled WEP security (it was running without security - but relying on MAC filtering for safety) ... then reconnected (entered the hex key into my device) - then the Livebox remembered the MAC address ... disabled security again (to put it back like it was) and now the MAC address is stored and I can connect without security without having to press the pairing button.
i.e. when the Livebox is running without WPA or WEP then it does not auto-store the MAC addresses into the whitelist. Probably done as an extra security feature - reasonable as well ... but would be good if there was some sort of indication of this functionality in the admin GUI.
