Just found this site......after weeks of tearimg my hair out I now know what's wrong and it's not me. I'm trying to run a freakin business for christs sake! What good is half an email system?
And don't get me strated on customer service or poor speed.
OK, I want to leave and I want my MAC code but.....I can't get through to customer suport (ha!). They are currently "very busy", I wonder why?
What can I do? Any other numbers for me? I am desperate. Desperate to leave this p**s poor ISP company that is.
That is most certainly a torrid situation you are in. The fact that your business is being hindered due to Oranges flaws is testament to service many other people are receiving.
It's one annoyance to get in-excusable slow speeds. Its certainly another thing when something simple like receiving/sending email becomes unreliable. It would be interesting to hear what other implications people have had as a result of this email system debacle.
One can only suggest "keep at it" until you find the line not busy- early mornings being a common sense period to get a successful call. There are numerous phone numbers available, try searching for a thread with contact numbers.
I used to describe Oranges service as p**s poor, but its way worse than that- its not worth p**sing on at all.
Hhhmm, I wonder if I have any legal recourse here? I have to spend time cutting and pasting and eventually send replies via bloody Googlemail or Yahoo which looks terrible to my potential customers.
I got through to customer support after god knows how long and how many tries. I cut short any twat who tried to enter into dialogue with me and demanded my MAC code......... pronto! We shall see.
Oh and another thing, I'm cancelling my mobile phone account too, oh, and everybody's in our business as well, I can't bear to give them any more of my cash.
I'm out! Didn't take long, 10 days from requesting the MAC code to "live" with my new supplier. Bloody hell, I feel relieved, my advice, especially to those like me who run a business from home is to leave Orznge asap, the have taken the art of taking the p**s to a new level.
I thought long and hard about new isp's and although some big names might offer a good reliable (for now) cheapish service I just know that when things go wrong, which they always do, then there will be problems.
I have gone to fast.co.uk, I speak to the same guy every time, get this, he rings me !!!! A bit more per month but worth it for the peace of mind it will give me.
I asked for my MAC code 6 days ago and have only had an automated reply from customer non-service. I haven't the strength to ring India again to speak to someone who tells me it is my failt or Outlook Ex is corrupt or................ I want to go to Fast too but they need my MAC code. This morning I have been able to send one email and none since, although I can receive at the moment. I am so frustrated and angry - our computer support guy at work rates Orange the worst provider bar none. I would agree but then when you do a bit of investigation, others have equally bad ratings - I have just looked at BT and Tiscali and there are sites that slate them too - it makes you scared to move!
