I ve been an Orange customer for years eg freeserve and wannadoo. Recently we have noticed disconnetions and very slow internet. I have seen the problems on this website but what is confusing me is that our neighbour has just moved to Orange and they are not having any problems. When the internet goes down we have been round to the neighbours to see if their's was down but no it's working PERFECTLY!!

my connection went down around 11pm last night , and this morning it was STILL down at around 8.15am.
last friday , working from home, my connection went down from 4pm to approximately 7pm. i never had these problems with Wanadoo.
i'm in the basingstoke area. anyone else having these regular connection problems with Orange?

I had the same problems last Friday night (I'm in the Basingstoke area too), I got disconnected at around 11PM, rebooted my router and noticed there was no ADSL connection, it seems to be happening more regularly as this was the third disconnection I've had in the past month or so. Eventually I gave up and went to bed, the connection was back when I tried again at 9am on Saturday.
It all seems to have started after getting an e-mail from Orange a little while back saying they were upgrading the service or something. I'm getting very tempted to take up Sky's offer at the moment and tie my broadband in with my satellite deal.
nice also to know that it wasnt just me having that problem.
god only knows what this bunch of incompetents are doing - i have NEVER had any service issues with freeserve or wanadoo. NONE.
and i've been with freeserve since it started, way back in the dial up modem days.
I think I'll take the plunge and ditch Orange altogether it's a shame as Freeserve/Wanadoo were excellent. Reading other posts on here Be seem to be a very good provider and they are available in the Basingstoke area.
It happened again last night at about 7:30, I lost my connection for 20 minutes. Definately time to move on I think, it's a shame as I never had any problems with Freeserve/Wanadoo.
I wonder if I could ask for a refund for the time I was offline?

you'll be lucky!! they'll probably try to impose a cancellation fee on you for ending the contract early (if its within 12 months)
they're useless.
