Having had Orange 8mb for a month I have tested the download speed at many different times every day.
Late at night and first thing in the morning I hit 6mb but all afternoon I'm lucky to get 2mb and into the evening I can be down as low as 150kb. My upload speed never changes at around 380kb. I know that adsl shares the connection but having come from cable that never changes its a little dissapointing to go this slow. It's not a one off but every day for the last 2 weeks.
Is this normal and is there any way to speed things up a little?
Spoke to Orange and they tested the line and said it was slow as at night I get 6mb but in the evening I get 150 - 350kb!
They then told me they would raise a fault and give it 72hrs.
Having spoke to someone in India a few times now it appears I'm not the only one with this problem and they are working on it for the last 1 1/2 months.
That don't sound good to me
Is this forever?
I somtimes have this problem and SOMETIMES i can cure this my turning off the PC and the Livebox, Switch on the Livebox and give it 20 mins to boot up then reboot the PC and reconnect to the livebox.
I'll say that the Orange network is currently undergoing massive expansion, we've upgrading the network, this should be completed by the 15th and should hopefully resolve any slow speed issue
