Can anyone help please?
all was working for months fine until suddenly the other night the @ light started to flash slowly. I tried a re-boot which didn't help, and then a factory restore which worked fine. Thought all was ok, and then problem came back after about 4 hours. This time factory re-store didn't work. I called Tech support (ok stop laughing), and they told me I have an "intermittent syncronisation problem" OH i said that sounds bad.
They told me to do another re-store and change the filter.
I only have 1 BT socket, No extensions.
When trying to do the re-store I get to the bit when it lets you put the user name and password in, and then click "Validate" After about a minute a box comes up and says"Syncronising in process, no connection to the internet" nothing!
I tried anothe restore and got to the same point. It then said "PPP in progress" and again got no further. the @ light will flash slowly for about 5 or 6 seconds, and then quickly for the same time. Sometimes it will stop flashing and that is when I get about 30 seconds of connection.
I can occasionally get a connection which lasts between 30seconds and 4 hours and the the same procedure happens all over again.
Please Help. Tech Support don't seem to know.
Thanks
Stu
They're right, thats a classic intermittant synchronisation. The livebox intermittantly loses the established connection between itself and the exchange.
If you've already tried the livebox by itself and swapped the filters like suggested then next would probably be a line test unless that's already been started.
Thanks for that Elhana.
I've got a connection back now. After my last post, I had a connection for about 12hours, and then lost it again. It's since come back again, so I'll give it a few hours in case the problem has been solved and if not I'll ask for a line test. I'm not sure how a line test would work though if they happened to test it during one of the "good" periods. It might not show a fault.
Oh well, wait and see.
Thanks again.

Intermittant faults are put through as intermittant, the system looks for signs that the connection has problems rather than simply checking it's connection or performance then and there.
Thanks again Elhana,
I'm up to about 36 hours now, so I hope the problem might have been just a glitch in the system. I hope I'm not speaking too soon, but it seems to have settled down now.
If I have any more problems, I'll follow your advice and ask for a line test.
Thank you again, your replies are much appreciated.
