If you read my Moving House Saga you will know that I cancelled my contract with Orange last Friday 13th. I did another line with check BT on Monday. No problems, and the Marker or Tag had been removed, rang IDNET later that morning and signed up with them, received an email at work the next morning with account details and settings, entered this into my router login window and my connection was up and running Not only that but the speed is over twice that from Orange.
How come IDNET can do in a DAY that Orange failed to do in over a month and it would be nearly two months if I waited for their latest date on 6th May.
My email account was still working from Orange and I saw an email from Orange saying they were sorry to see me go but if I wanted to change my mind call this number!!! YEAH RIGHT!
They also sent me a returns bag for the Livebox which I sent back nearly a year ago, but I noted how quickly they can contact you if they want something.
In a nutshell Orange offer their customers a substandard shoddy service. Get out if you can.
On another note for anyone who has a MAC, before I moved the MAC was in the same room as the Router and connected by ethernet cable but this time its in another room and mines the older style imac with no Airport Card and the the new Airport Cards don't fit and you can't buy them anymore apart say from Ebay but are expensive. I have gone for the Ethernet Bridge from Netgear.
These to are expensive and you need two to get it working as they use the mains plug sockets in any room plus ethernet cable to connect but there brilliant.
A single day? Thats almost suspiciously too quick! I've seen it happen once before but it's extremely rare to go through that quickly. I'd double check with IDNet that they are the current providers of the broadband as I've heard of things like this happening where you think you're on one ISP when actually using another.
Yes I've checked the account is ready to use. Its early days yet but I'm certainley impressed so far. The speed is far better, with Orange it was just over 300kbs (is that the right terminolgy) with IDNET its 800kbs. Their website is easy to use and understand and all the settings for router and email are easy to get hold of.
