I've had Orange broadband since July last year, free with my phone thank god, I can't imagine if I had to pay for the crap I've had all that time.
I think it worked for the first month then every day I was having to unplug and plug the livebox back in to get it reconnected. The talk service has been unusable for most of it as well. Then they emailed me about 6 weeks ago saying congrats I can now get 5 meg! I knew that meant they'd up/downgraded my Dudley exchange to LLU.
I was actually getting more or less exactly 2 meg which every day dropped by around 100k until last tuesday when it dropped to 440k then guess what.... 7pm, dead. It's been off ever since. All my neighbours who're on the same exchange are in the same boat.
I called that night and the first person just said "sorry there's a problem with the broadband and it's being sorted" then hung up on me before I'd even told him who I am or where I am or anything.
So I called again and this time got through to (british) tech support who put me through the usual script - factory reset and the like, in a very arsey way I must add - he was huffing and puffing through the whole call. I felt like I was really peeing him off - not my fault mate! He told me to call back in 2 days to check progress.
The next day I got a call back from them asking me if it's back on. Shouldn't THEY know? After all, maybe a little sense might suggest sending an engineer to exchange. Same old procedure again and still not working.
It's Sunday now, me and my neighbours still have no connection - PPP server down, and I've had enough. I'm not even going to bother speaking to the rude liars any more. I've downgraded my package back to the free one and I've ordered the cancellation of my BT line and cable are installing on Tuesday. I'll cancel Orange when the contract runs out to save losing my rag with them and wasting money on another call. I bet they won't even notice my BT line's gone.
I've never in my life experienced such a crap service and they're still rolling out this useless LLU! How long has this got to go on???
I feel really sorry for all you out there who are paying full whack for this non-existent service.
I've been with them on mobile phone with no probs for many years but it's soured things that much now i'm leaving that too when the contract's out.
What Orange are doing is criminal.

Virgin connected their cable internet today - not a single problem.
We've only chosen their 2 meg service (2 for £20 with phone line) but in comparison after using it for 5 hours now it makes the Orange when it worked great look like dial up.
Our BT line is still active till our number is transferred and our Livebox is still not connecting. Judging by all the other horror stories i've read here it probably will never come back on.
I feel so much happier with my internet already even though what I was (supposed to be) getting for free is now costing me a tenner.
Oh, and by the way, Customer Service at Virgin have reminded me what it's like to speak to pleasant, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Interesting to know that not everyone on Dudley's not totally disconnected. I'll have to ask our neighbours if Orange have realised it's a possible line fault yet.
