I've been trying to get connected now for about 5 weeks, I signed up online, got my live box.. got my email saying it was active so installed, connected etc and nada.. flashing red @ sign of doom is all I saw.
I've now rung up about 30 to 40 times I guess in total.. (5 times today alone) over the last few weeks.
each time the problem is EXACTLY where it was left when I rang off, and they NOW have to do xxx line test/escalate/check/test etc
They do this and then nothing happens so I ring again and find it's groundhog day AGAIN.
I've now installed and uninstalled the software over 10 times, been told it's the line and then it's not.. it's unbelievable.
I must have spent 10- 12 hours on the phone talking to these guys trying to get connected and all they say is usually ok we'll do xxxx please ring back in two days etc.
It's not good enough so I want to cancel now.. 5 weeks no connection but no wait "sir you have a contract".. so I can't.. little do they know (till reading this of course but hey what-ever) I care not about having to pay a full years fees to get out I am that sick of wanadoo I'll gladly pay to never use them.. but boy will i shout about it and I'm involved in online marketing so I'm sure I cost them more than they ever will take from me hundreds of times over..
well anyway.. now I'm waiting for a new livebox before I've been assured I can cancel by a supervisor I wasn't allowed to speak to today despite DEMANDING and I mean demanding.. to speak to them.. each time the guy came back with "we'll send it today".. which wasn't what I asked . however.. a new livebox was supposed to be despatched last week but suprise suprise.. never was..
wanadoo support is a complete and utter joke.. I've spent about £1000 - £1200 of my time (self employed at £100 an hour here) and probably £50 of my phone to get connected and all they do is react verbally to the situation and not much more.. and they'll give me £30 credit back for the lost month and say "hey we are really sorry" ..well that dont cut it.. I have to chase it every step of the way.. I actually find it offensive to be in this situation by this company where they can't supply in a reasonable timescale, have dont NOTHING proactive whatsoever, I've had to spend my time and money in an attempt to use their service and they wave a contract at every turn and wont let me cancel ...well not yet.
If the livebox that comes this week does not work they will get it and all the kit and a shredded contract back
the fact they dare say "you are in a contract" is offensive when they can't supply a connection in a reasonable (ok I'd say 10 days !? it is 2006 am I expecting too much ?? ) timescale
am looking forward to the livebox not working in fact.. just so I can put the supervisors verbal confirmation that I can cancel at that point to the test.. I'm pretty sure it will be "well we actually need to now send an engineer sir we just can't cancel" etc. (am sure a shredded livebox will change their mind.. it'l be worth a years subs just to shred it)
we'll see.. but if you are thinking of wanadoo ..then you wanadont !
