I have tried connecting my usb webcam to the livebox, via the liveprinter usb port. On the livebox configuration page it comes up with:
USB Peripherals
USB camera
Vid: 3141
Pid: 24768
USB Version: 1.10
Revision: 1.01
So I assume the livebox is recognising it. However, I can't access the webcam from the pc. I've tried running the add new hardware wizard, with no luck.
Does anyone have any ideas? - I want to be able to view images from the webcam remotely via a wireless connection to the livebox.
Wouldnt you need the drivers installed for the cam though? Dont see how this could work unless the livebox has some sort of thing that auto detects stuff like that...
the drivers for the camera are installed on the pc, but obviously not on the livebox itself. The livebox must surely be able to detect the camera though, mustn't it, because otherwise I wouldn't get that info on the config page??

Yeah but the drivers are on the pc not the livebox, and its connected to the livebox not the pc, its just like if you plug a usb device into your pc and it detects somethings been plugged in, but it wont work until you install the drivers. Not sure but im sure Orange were planning something related to wireless survelliance using the livebox so this might be easier to use then.

Think of it like chinese whispers. If the livebox isn't passing the complete USB connection through then you'll just won't get the right message and it won't work. Right now it looks to be setup specificially for serving printers and thats it.

You mean Livezoom. Thats the videocam/surveilence webcam system they have running in france through the livebox.
