My flatmate signed us up to Broadband Unlimited in February, and we've had absolutely great speeds nearing 8mbit at all times. Then yesterday I notice that my router (Netgear DG834g) is now syncing at less than half the usual speed - 4608 down 288 up. On reading these forums it seems like the 288 up in particular is indicative that the line has been moved to LLU.
I asked the flatmate last night to check his Orange email and sure enough he had one from a few weeks ago saying that they were going to upgrade our line "around the 13th April" for possibly "faster speeds". Unfortunately, my flatmate is not the techy one but opened the account before I moved in. Is it possible to ring tech support on his behalf (not that I think I'm going to get anywhere)?
I wonder if there are any lawyers out there who would care to look at the T&Cs for Broadband Unlimited and comment on whether it's fair that while they state that if they inform you of a detrimental change to the material nature of the service you have 7 days to cancel your contract, they don't say anything about what happens when they inform you of an improvement and it actually turns out to be a worsening of your line/speeds.

Certainly sounds like it's been migrated to LLU.

You could have your flatmate ask to have you put down as 3rd party access so they can then deal with you for tech stuff.
And right after I posted this, my line went down completely. It's still syncing at 4608/288 but I'm just getting "LCP was allowed to come up" messages in the router - there's no authentication going on at the other end. Great.
