Like the vast majority of users, it would seem, with Orange as their ISP I
am currently unhappy with the lack of the ability to send emails on a
regular basis. To be fair to Orange (or rather Fresserve/Wanadoo) I have had no problems until the last couple of weeks, but I am growing more
and more impatient with the service.
I am thinking about changing ISP but use an old freeserve email address
occasionally for business. Is it possible to take email addresses with you
when you change ISP.
Hope you can help a non-expert !!!
Take them with you, no, but you can still use them.
The account when cancelled or migrated goes to a pay as you go account so it doesn't just disappear. Receiving emails should work as normal. To send through that account you'd need to either be using Orange dialup or the webmail system. The other option is to use your new provider to send the email.
The account, if you don't dialup, will suspend after a few months, at that point to keep using it you have re-activate it through the Orange site.
I am not too bothered about using the old @freeserve.co.uk address, as long as I can receive emails from any clients / customers who haven't updated their records to use my new address.
On the Orange server problem............... at least Orange now admit a problem and supposedly it will be sorted within 48 hours. I guess I can await that long if not they can send me my MAC code and I'm off !!!!
Thanks again..... probably be in touch again for help !!
