Hi, i feel a bit of an out cast as most of my dealings with Orange were fairly straightforward up till now. 3 weeks to connect excepted...
I was just wondering if you guys could help with this problem. I have tried Tech support but 'pat' in Bangalore was unable to fathom the question - a jock accent probably doesn't help.
I'm trying to sort out my voip access. I have a live box. I also have a very
good siemens phone that enables me to have 3 DECT handsets in the house and it has 2 connections on the base. 1 regular BT for the landline and one for the router. This means i can select whether i want to route calls through the landline or VOIP on the handset and even use one hand set for each line at the same time. However... This has an RJ45 cable on it for a regular router. The livebox has an RJ11 socket with a BT converter. So i can't plug the phone into the livebox phone socket but i can plug it into the ethernet connection on the side of the livebox. All I now need is the SIP settings:
Authentication Name:
Authentication password:
Confirm authentication password:
Username:
Domain:
Display name:
Proxy server address:
Registrar server:
so i can configure the phone but the tech guy in the end went for the classic palm off and told me i had to phone customer service who had never even heard of SIP. Does anyone know where i can get this info or is this a whole world of complication that i should really avoid.
PS, has anyone noticed that if you call tech support later at night they seem to be based in the UK and actually helpful?
