My friend just joined Orange Broadband, against my wishes i might add... she's waited 10 days for her line to be activated which ended today! she got the broadband activated email today. When she tried to log in, the livebox said invalid adsl information or something like that, hintin that something was wrong with user/password. She contacted Orange who told her that she had been put on dial up by BT and that she should wait 5 days for them to switch her to broadband! Is this pure nonsense? Are they leading her on! Any advice?

Once upon a time, there was........ Yes, I this sounds like Orange have gone into the fairy tale business.
Why would BT want to put an Orange customer onto dial up? If anyone would do that it would surely be the ISP to whom the customer belongs.
Well thats is certainly wrong. If the line wasn't activated for broadband then there would be no way the system could try and log in and find out the details were incorrect.
It is possible however that Orange's system has somehow set the account to dialup thereby preventing broadband access as it's not set to allow it so. It is roughly right for the 5 days though as that would be an estimated time for it to be sent off to be corrected.
