My Brother In Law had the same problem as this when he came round with his laptop when he was on call, and the Nintendo Wii would not connect to the internet either.
I have no idea if your problem is related (it is a bit odd), but changing the security settings solved both problems.
The Livebox uses a hybrid WEP/WPA encryption. If you change it to one type only, then it seems to do the trick.
I'm not saying it will work, and I have no idea why it does work, but there you go.
Anyway, here are the instructions. Note that I did not change my setting down to low, I left it at Medium:

Change your Livebox configuration. Go to http://configuration.adsl/inde...x2.html which should open your Livebox configuration page on your browser. Use your Orange or Wanadoo or even Freeserve login username and password here. Now go to Configuration -> Advanced -> Wireless and choose the WEP Security Only option. After you submit this your Livebox should flash a bit so give it 5 minutes to adjust itself. On the same window click to Security -> Firewall and choose ‘low’. As long as you have a Firewall on your PC you’ll still be safe.

The security used for the wireless shouldn't be involved and it's probably just down to the firewall. The WEP/WPA settings simply encrypt the data, it doesn't alter, change or block it.
Hi I'm not using livebox - I'm using a netgear wifi router with wpa-psk enabled - the wireless works fine and I can access the internet on both my home PC and the work laptop. I can see the VPN on the work laptop but cant use IE or Outlook
