I attached a spreadsheet to a hotmail to send very important info to my accountant. It doesnt get through and I have had e message back saying transmission is delayed. Does anyone know why or have any workarounds? my accountants ISP is blueyonder.
Don't know why it happens but putting the file into a compressed format (i.e. winzip or rar) usually gets it through. If you're using XP the easiest way to do it is to find the file on your computer, right-click --> Send to --> compressed folder, then attach the compressed version to your email and try again.
Also works if you need to send things like .exe files that many mail services strip out as they assume they're malware - bundle it up with winzip and it should go through fine as the program doesn't look inside the archive.
