I took out a new mobile phone contract with Orange largely on the promise of 'free' broadband that came bundled with the phone.
All was well until last week when I got the dreaded 'PPP server down...'.
The muppet in support insisted that I reset the livebox to the default settings, rather than telling me what the usual cause of this is. Imagine going to the doctor and being offered a cure before he knows what the ailment is! The mind boggles.
Anyway, I reluctantly did as he requested and nothing changed. No surprises there then. They said they'd request a BT line check (liars, they didn't, as they later admitted) and to phone back 2 days later. I did that and another muppet wanted me to reset the box again - more medicine!
I emailed via the web site and told them it was still down. They emailed back and said it's fixed, which it still isn't a week after it first went down.
Luckily for me I have another free ISP (TalkTalk) on the 2nd BT phone line. I'm now using this service while I wait and see if Orange ever comes back alive. Been with them for ~2 years and NO issues so far with TalkTalk.
So far, it's been s**t, s**t and more s**t dealing with the lying liars at Orange support.
BTW, the web site says there are issues in the Liverpool area (I'm in Oxton, Birkenhead) but the voice message on the support line says there are no known issues. WDF!?!?!?!
