i phoned up Orange a few days ago asking to get a MAC code, i spoke to some indian woman on the phone who said i couldnt get one because Orange do things differently when it comes to switching isp's. she then put me through to a bloke, who said MAC codes are available, at this point i complained about the lack of service, he's giving me a months free broadband, and refunding me the cost of the new modem that i went out and bought, he also said he will be sending out an engineer to check my line, etc.
do you think i should get the engineer to come out or just get my MAC code and move to BT?
remember MAC codes are valid for 30 days so you could ahead an get it anyway.
it may be advisable to wait for the results of the line test first, plus they seem to be doing everything they can to keep you as a customer!
i'm in a similar position, I'm waiting for the results of a line test, and if there response is unsatisfactory I will be requesting a MAC code and switching to Sky.
