After a very very bad start with Orange i have to say and i never thought i would its a good service so far.
We spent two weeks woth no service as Orange took over from my very reliable AOL service this was due to the bb acount not being activated properly we were put on a pay&go service so i was told not the unlimited 8mg bb i orderd.
It took 6 calls to customer service who intern blamed tech surport who intern blamed customer service, being past from one dept to another until a very nice young lady finaly said "ohhhh this is the problem it's on your account details why the hell didnt they pick this up 1st time".
She put me through to a manger while she sorted th eproblem the manager listened to my complant noted the problems and promised to call me on monday the day they promised to activate my 8mg broadband.
This was all on a friday night so i had to wait over a third weekend with no net i was not filled with confidence that i would get a service or i would recive a call from the manager as promised on monday to let me know what the outcome was.
On the sunday i noticed all the correct lights were on my livebox i gingerly connected my pc and hay presto internet it was faster than my old AOL and after over two weeks with no service i was happy.
The manager called on monday i told him it was working he informed me over next 10 days they will be doing line tests to see what the max speed i can get so if i lose connection for a bit not to worry and waste time and money calling tech surport, my phone service was up and running when i got home and i am am now enjoying faultless connection and a 7mg speed (i was only gettin 4mg with aol) free calls to my mates and to Oz & new Zeland.
The only problem iam getting is connecting my wirless ps2 games console to the livebox but thats coz the ps2 does not have a option to input the wep key but when i connect directly to the livebox it picks up perfectly.
The other night i was playing a online game the wife was using the net while talking to her friend in new zeland and it didnt miss a beat fingers crossed this is going to be th ecase from now on
Just thought i would post this up to say that Orange told me that they do not surport this kind of adaptor WG111v2 and advised me to buy there wirless adaptor to connect to livebox, Ive connected my pc to the livebox via this adaptor with minimal problems and with a great deal of ease.
The adaptor picked up the Livebox plus a number of other wireless networks in my street without a problem the only drop ive had in connection was a Orange issue when they tested my line for speed, Also i have another netgear product a game adaptor WGE111 that picks the livebox up without a problem but coz i have no means of entering a WEP code on my ps2 for access i have to turn the wep security off to get it connected but at least it works (oh ive moved the ps2 to direct livebox connection due to this but it works a treat.

I did mention in your other thread that you'd probably need to connect it to a PC so you can enter the details it needs first. The manual should explain most of that.
Thankyou for your help but the manual i have just says plug in & play you can not access this device via a pc (iam talking about the game adaptor not usb adaptor) either anyway all is working now so thanks.
I asume your a rep off Orange as you seem very knowlegable iam praising the company not taking a poke at them although i should considering the mess they made of my activation but all is well now.
The game adaptor will not connect to the livebox even if i could access it via a pc the network setup for ps2 does not have a function to input wep keys unlike xbox & psp ds or now ps3.

If you're happy with how it's setup thats fine, just things that don't work right bug me. The manual I found shows the WGE111 uses an ethernet connection and you simply connect it to a pc and try and access 192.168.0.202 to get to it's settings. Pretty much like most routers etc work. I presume the PS2 doesn't have a web browser so you'd need to use a PC to set it.

I presume the xbox ones work on a standard spec which allows the xbox itself to access the required settings where as the DS and PSP have wireless built in so support it by default. Why Sony didn't follow the xbox method I don't know.
