I have just acquired a BILLION ADSL 5200G router to replace my Speedtouch USB.
The credentials for Authenticating on ADSL are the SAME yet the router cannot log in.
PPP0A VC-MUX 0 38 Annex A all standard Stuff.
Router STATUS page shows 588 and 288 Down/Up speed.
Log shows CHAPS U/N & P/W rejected every few seconds.
There is not much else I can configure on the WAN side so I am at a total loss what to do.
HAS ANYONE ANY IDEAS !
NB: Not the router as works fine at my work with alternative provider.

That was my thoughts however I got Orange to re-issue and they are case and letter perfect.
My only thought was maybe the USB uses PAP whereas the router uses CHAP, but no way of knowing or changing on the router.
A long hold for Orange technical, lots or repeated security questions etc, only to be told we can not help you with any 3rd party products, you should talk to Billion. All I wanted was to confirm the Orange settings for the connection. 'It is ADSL, PPPoA...' but 'HELP' staff have not got a script for that.
I install these routers for work so if I can't get Orange to connect then its NOT going to happen without more information. Its a pity Billion no longer have a forum !
Well it is CHAP for router's that need it set so that's not the problem. Would have pointed it out before if I'd spotted it was.
You could try the alternate domains, swap out the @fs for the following and try them instead...
@bb1.freeserve.co.uk
@bb2.freeserve.co.uk
@bb3.freeserve.co.uk
@bb4.freeserve.co.uk
If that doesn't work call them again and if you're not on an LLU connection ask them to do a radius log check, that'll help highlight whats going through so it can be rechecked against the details they have.
