Following Bramley's instructions I got my G3 running OSX 10.3.9 working perfectly with a Livebox using the ethernet cable. (it's an oldish one 'cos it says Wanadoo on it).
I then strung another ethernet cable from the second socket on the livebox to my G4 running the same software and nothing happens. If I type in http://configuration.adsl/ into a browser nothing happens. (the specified server could not be found)
Any thoughts ...

I'm so000 impressed that nearly Three weeks after I fixed it myself Orange have put support on a phoneline which makes them a profit. saynoto0870 website suggests calling 01642 732785.
