After contacting the Orange support line a number of times over the last week I have now given up, can anybody help?
Basically if I pick my phone up whilst the livebox is ON then I hear a loud buzzing noise. If I turn the power off the livebox whilst still connected then I get a normal ring tone and my normal BT line is fine.
I have 3 solid lights on in normal use one for the wireless, one @ and the other the phone symbol. When I receive a call the the phone light flashes quickly but the phone does not actually ring.
Here is what I have tried so far ...
Factory reset of Livebox (holding down the 1 button whilst powering up)
Changing the phone handset
Changing the livebox adaptor
Changing the wireless channel via the livebox configuration (http://configuration.adsl/)
After weeks of having a clear line the "noise" you describe has just started with my VOIP connection, did you ever manage to resolve it with your phone?

sorry, I don't have any magic answer to these talk issues but just to say i'm in there with you all!!!
My livebox Talk only ever worked for outgoing calls, and then only for the first few weeks. After that the the people i called started to complain that the line had lots of interference. After searching the website i decided to change the channel and move my dect phone and since then i haven't been able to get a ringtone on either a dect or basic corded phone.
I have tried all the reboots and new connectors... looks like a fundamental flaw somewhere! Am very glad I ordered the free calls/ wireless livebox service when it had gone down to a fiver a month, i'd be incandescent if they were still charging 20 quid
Don't bother complaining to the customer service; I've had several emails back and forth and the bottom line is that you have to call an 0845 telephone number (in an attempt) to sort it out - They do point out that you can use Live Box Talk at 4p per minute, but don't seem able to grasp the phrase (it dosen't work, that's why I'm complaining!) Bloody farce; I'm installing BT Broadband at my sister's house tomorrow, if its half as good as people say I think that's where I'll be moving soon!!!!

Hi Folks
I have had the same symptoms on my 0845 line...(especially when using a quality JPL headset plugged into a BT Converse 1200 with a headset socket)......and have just spent 30 mins moving the Live box as far away from my telephone handset as possible......and the Buzz has almost gone ......at least enough to have a reasonably normal conversation anyway.
In trying to sort the problem, I found that if powered off my Live box it connected the 0845 line first (I listened in via the VOIP socket during the re-boot of the Live box) and the phone line was always clear until the broadband connection kicked in, which could be seen from the lights on the box, which I thought was significant (but not sure why???....is it because of something happening inside the box, or is it interference down the wire when both BB and VOIP are competing for bandwidth)
Mind you, today is also the day that BT permitted Orange to take over my line on the Home Max package, and I have just called BT to ask when the line swapped over to be "totally Orange", and BT have told me that I am no longer a BT customer, but couldn't specify when the switch was flicked! If any of you folks are waiting for a change of land line supplier (from BT to Orange) as a part of the Home Max deal, perhaps all will be better when that occurs.....otherwise, try moving the Live box away. Hope this helps.
