I have a PC and a DVR which is connected to a number of CCTV cameras. I can see the cameras if I key the local (and static) IP address. In order to see the cameras from a remote PC using the Internet I acquired a no-ip.com address. If I enter my no-ip.com URL from home PC I can see the cameras but I get a time out if I am using a remote PC.
I have entered my no-ip details into the Livebox configuration for Dynamic DNS and have tried redirecting Port 80 but no joy.
If you use NetMonitor's utility it always returns Port 80 not open.
I am using two Netgear wireless adaptors to connect the DVR to my PC.
Any ideas?
You forwarded port 80 to the DVR in the livebox ok and are you sure it only uses port 80?
Does the DVR connect directly to the livebox or via the PC which is what it sounds like you could be doing?
It may be also worth setting it to a different non-standard port as it's really not recommended to run something like that through port 80 on a home connection.
There's also the livebox firewall which you could try turning off to test or setting to advanced.
The DVR is connected to a NETGEAR WG602 Wireless Adaptor via a CAT5 cable and this is paired with another WG602 which is connected via a CAT5 cable to the Livebox.
I have tried setting the DVR to Port 8080 and changing the Port Re-Direction in the Livebox to the same. The result is worse because I cannot then get a connection using the local IP address.
The Livebox firewall is set to low which I believe is the minimum setting.
