hi there fellow wanadoo disappointed "customers" (victims more like)
I first heard of this site through web user magazine and finally found a group of people who "dislike" wanadoo as much as i do. I have just registered and i thought i would like to share in my EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE (exagerated) with wanadoo.
I first got wanadoo or freeserve as it was known back then in 2003. I chose a typical 512kbps line at the time was 27.99. i had the contract for a year and b4 it was coming to an end, a person from sales called me and offered to upgrade me. I took the upgrade to 1.1mbps which was only 22.99 a month. Then thats where it all went pear shaped. They took the money off on the 17th of every month but then they started to take money off earlier and without warning, in early 2005 my telephone line was disconnected for 3 months. I still had too pay 22.99 for 3 months and too top it off, a lovely "moving house fee" of 41.98 or there abouts even though i've lived at my current address for 21 years. I called to say i havent moved house and that i couldnt access the internet for 3 months. they said they would investigate the problem. I heard nothing for months despite my constant telephone calls. My bickering and moaning still hasnt gone heard. I rang up in january this month to upgrade to 2.2mpbs. I told them all the problems i have been having, but those fell on deaf ears. They said that because i "moved House" they couldnt upgrade me until they submitted a form (by the way an upgrade i believe costs £20) and i couldnt do nothing since. It is now May, many pounds out of pocket, 1.1mpbs speed and i will be terminating my contract with wanadoo soon any , which , i believe is another £20 to terminate my contract early in my contract.
I also get the runaround when on the telephone to anyone which doesnt help matters. I am just sick of wanadoo, having been a customer for nearly 3 years (and a freeserve customer for 2 or 3 years at least) i feel very angry that all this has gone un heard of.
I was just wondering if anyone had any similar experiences or advice.
Thanks for your time
Andy
P.S i am also an Orange customer, have also had similar problemes with them but, i'll wait till the new sites up. More ammunition.
