I was disconnected for 6 weeks from the Orange Broadband service, during this time I phone up on a daily basis and spoke to Tech Help and Customer Care (haha!). Eventually I was sent a Livebox and told that it would solve my connection problems, it didn't and eventually they told me I'd need to upgrade to 8MB which I did but the problem persisted and it was only yesterday I finally got back online. Orange reduced my monthly fee to £12.99 for the inconvenience but I've now discovered I've been locked into a new contract because I regraded (my fault I never read the T&Cs.) No one at Orange seems to have a clue what they are doing and there is no communication between departments at all.
However, my internet speed is shockingly slow just now and I was wondering if anyone had any advice.

You're on an LLU connection, relatively close to the exchange and getting a good signal. The livebox itself estimates you should be able to get a 7meg sync speed. For some reason the connection has got locked at 1/2meg even though it's got plenty of room to go much higher.
No idea why and there's a bunch of others on here in the same position.
Unfortunately Big, you will be stuck with that speed for the foreseeable future, as it is Oranges Problem to solve and they are doing NOTHING about it. Search this forum, you will find the reasons behind this.
Get out now while you can !! they CANNOT fix these problems believe me... been there got the t-shirt !
