hi I'm new to this Orange forum but thought i'd better join as I've just acquired a livebox.

My query is this: I can only connect through an unsecure connection (conexant).
I realise this is not too good and wonder if anyone could help.

The livebox seems to stop being on my side when i put in the WEP key.

It just tells me that it can't connect!!! I also am using windows vista.

Change security to WEP only. WEP key is case sensitive.

what wireless adapter do you have, it can make all the difference, if it is an inbuilt wireless adapter on a laptop, try WPA only, also, make a wired connection, copy the WEP key directly from the config pages, then disconnect the wired connection, and paste it into the section and it should be able to connect right away, if it doesnt, send me a PM on this forum

as keith said, its case sensitive, only caps, letters A-F and numbers 0-9

I really would recommend you use WPA, its so much more secure than WEP Smile
