Well, i got Livebox sent yesterday. I spent all day yesterday trying to sort it and all day today trying to sort it and still got no further.
I have callled tech support the guy trying to tel me to type in an i.p in adress bar but i was explaining im not connected to the internet still insisted i did it so i did and webpage couldnt be found.
The problem is that when i have installed everyhing for livebox with CD i get to the part where you connect your live box to your pc and it just keeps saying My firewall is blocking the connection with ethernet cable.. I have turned all firewalls i have off and my virus protection. i have tried everything i can think off diferent sockets, reinstalling uninstalling firewall, messing with internet options, shouting at it etc etc.
As Keithwjones said the address they were wanting will have been the livebox itself so they can check settings and status on there. Ignore the CD, you really don't need it especially for ethernet.
If you can't use the link above try opening the control panel, go into Network Connections or Network and Internet Connections then Network Connections at the bottom.
Right click your Loacl Area Connection and select Status, what does the box show the status as? Go into the support tab, what does this show for Address Type and IP Address?
So it's showing connected but the IP is just zeros or something else?
If it is try this, go to Start, click run, type into the box...
netsh int ip reset C:\resetlog.txt
Press ok and you'll see a dos box come and go, once gone restart the PC and see if you can then access "192.168.1.1" though internet explorer, if not check the IP address details as before and see what they say.
